To celebrate their 25th anniversary as a band, the Westerkappeln surf punk veterans THE HAWAIIANS are treating themselves to a special jubilee release. The record features rare sampler contributions from recent years, several remixes and re-recordings, as well as six brand-new tracks.
Alongside cover versions of bands such as THE MUFFS, THE RICHIES, DIE TOTEN HOSEN, THE QUEERS, and THE BATES, the album includes 11 original compositions that fall somewhere between THE RAMONES, THE REZILLOS, and THE BEACH BOYS**. Guido Donot (DONOTS) returns as a guest, adding extra guitar work to two of the songs.
The earworm factor is once again unreal, and after not even 32 minutes, the fun is already over—thanks to the pedal being firmly pressed to the floor. The brilliant artwork was created by Ole O’Brian (THE EVIL O’BRIANS), whose work rightly enjoys absolute cult status within the pop-punk scene.
